My first FSE

I have to say right at the beginning: This is my first FSE at all and I had no comparison to other products.
The Jabra Freeway is really a nice device. The operation is very easy, the sound is of such a device perfectly fine.

As a smart phone, which uses the FSE, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with a Custom Firmware (CyanogenMod 9 ICS) used. When app I use here "Vlingo". Is the Market available at no cost and, in principle, the same app as they used Samsung on its normal firmware.

I actually bought this FSE more out of curiosity, as I have they really needed. Of course, everyone knows the situation, if you are traveling in the car and suddenly the phone rings. As a prudent driver (!) It is not an option to drive with one hand on the phone and the other at the wheel for me. Some are probably still in a position with cigarette in his left hand, coffee cup wedged in his right hand and mobile phone being able to drive between shoulder and ear ... Congratulations to those and hopefully you drive to anyone.

Commissioning is incredibly easy. Unpacking - Loading - turning. After that, everything is explained by the voice articulate. It couples the FSE with his device and can get started. The commands that I've used are: "Phone commands" to pass commands directly to the mobile phone (in my case, the app Vlingo), "Battery" to check the battery level, "playback", "stop" and "Next track "to play the music on your phone, to stop or to skip to the next track and" Pairing with new device ", which is probably self-explanatory ;-)

The voice quality I have found to be very good. I can only use the FM transmitter and the FSE itself as an output device for technical reasons, because my car radio does not have Bluetooth. About the FSE and via FM transmitter would explain why on the highway and in a relatively noisy car all very well (and yes, I have a loud car, at least in the interior ^^). The Gesprächtspartner hear a bit from the noise of the car, but not so that it would interfere. Themselves they way, do not listen to, whether via FM transmitter and Radio to stop or on the FSE. One interviewee, however, has said, my voice sounds metallic, what I have not yet heard from others.

The buttons on the device are actually positioned quite well for my purposes. A large one for the acceptance and superimposing function, two for the volume or to the FM frequency change, an FM transmitter on and off switch and a mute button. On the side is below / above (depending on the viewing ;-)) once connecting the micro USB cable of the slider to the FSE and off. In general, the device reports always, if you have pressed one of the buttons. When switching on and off, changing the FM frequency and whether the FSE has been connected or disconnected with a single device.

In conjunction with Android and my Smartphone I had to fight a little bit, because the FSE has and then again opened another in "Play" once the default music app. Here I have an easy-disabled, which in ICS is possible, most recently. When TTS software on Android I use SVOX Classic TTS with the good Petra as voice. The recognition of my voice does not matter how well you navigate. The rest, such as calls or music but change already.

The bracket on the sun visor is also the extent appropriate. Only I have to get used to where the buttons are now if I still need the visor times me yet. The device holds at least on my visor without any problems and is not threatening to fall on me at the slightest curve. The charging cable would theoretically even long also to the FSE to the panel, I can do it even at the rear view mirror so that it does not wrap hangs right in the way. Is certainly not a good long-term solution, but if you like, I often forget to load the device and the device if and only complains when you're in a conversation, a passable emergency solution.

What perhaps disturbing is the fumbling with the FM transmitter. Firstly, here you do not get major jam messages by TP, as it's on a different frequency. On the other hand sometimes overlap the regional stations and one is eigtl. Permanently connected to the frequency change. I have the equipment now only been two days started at 88 x Mhz and am now at 93, x Mhz. I drive really only to work and back again ^^ .. You ought to know a Bluetooth radio, which will probably come into the car because of fumbling with me.

A good feature most recently: When you leave the car and the FSE anlässt, it comes when the connection to the device is off, in a standby. If you get in again, it wakes up and welcomes a with "Connected". I think that's pretty great. But you should start the unit just because the battery only for shorter stops.
