But now the story that can perhaps help with similar problems come to a similar decision.
The thing I have one of those really big PC under my desk, about 3 years old, Windows Vista. I work a lot with the thing, primarily with text and images. The data situation was, to put it mildly, unclear because extreme were many files on the hard disk. (Old archives included.) And Vista was getting slower. I bought a WIN7 and wanted to clean up times. Here however the fear that yet important files are at the end away. Ok, I'm not a very tidy person.
The company that had sold me the WIN7, said on the phone - yes, extra call me: all professionals and people who have had this experience would assume that only a proper reinstallation what would bring. I've quite seen. There had to be a temporary solution, so that I could clean up peace and reinstall. So I am, after some looking around on Amazon, gekomme on this little thing. Of particular interest: (1) What do you mean eigentlichlos "silently"? (2) What does this SSD, which I read a lot, but I have never tried? (3) If there probably fold, with the pre-installed Windows 7?
So the little thing came, I wanted to plug it, just try. First of a letdown. My slightly older SyncMaster BX 2240 has a VGA and a DVI input but no HDMI. In order not to get to the monitor. (That was my fault, I had not read closely enough when ordering. Otherwise I would have a DVI-HDMI connector, about 6 euros, can not forget to order.)
What to do? I was very curious ... connected to large LG TV via HDMI, a randomly existing LAN cable in and off. Great enthusiasm immediately. A large, crystal-clear image. All very quickly. Aha, SSD! Downloaded My OpenOffice and installed with the TV as a monitor. Went very quickly. The next day, the DVI-HDMI connector ordered, "deleyCON HDMI to DVI adapter". Something waited and played around one more night on the television, connection, etc. up to Dropbox looked at the size of these SSD, so that is not too full.
Then, as the HDMI connector was there changed. And what should I say? Again enthusiasm. All three points (1) - (3) above there are very well resolved. Especially speed and silence. I had become so used to the fan noise that I could not imagine how pleasant it is when nothing more can be heard in addition to the rattling of the keyboard. And I have plugged in an existing small 500 GB disk that has been detected and defused the same data problem.
All in all: fast and silently. I'm very - no, more than satisfied.
If at this satisfaction which should change, I write it here. At the moment this is the state of affairs.

* Yes, that. With the DVD I have inserted a self-produced DVD into the drive. This went flawlessly. Then an Amazon / LOVEFiLM, the lying around randomly. The question in short: If that is still played, why is it ever the DVD player under the TV? Was not played. My guess: a copy protection that generally prevents playback on PC drives to prevent copying. I am the not further explored. The DVD / Blu-ray player remains in operation.

Addendum (on 08/12/2014): Still completely satisfied. Google Drive and everything, which is not immediately processed, placed on the external hard drive in order not to strain the capacity of the internal SSD. Doing very well.

Addendum (27/04/2015): The computer hung in my office until recently the LAN cable, and the included wifi connection, a small USB connector that was still unpacked since. Then I'm out of town for a long time and got the computer screen together packed in a large suitcase between the laundry. Installed the WiFi connection only at the destination, tried. It worked right away, to latch myself in this way into the new home network. If it were possible, it would be for an additional star!

Addendum (30.06.2015): Back from the trip, I wanted to join and - it did not work! Blue LED lights. Monitor reports: No signal. Second power supply, the same result. I've assumed that the little one is still defective and have returned. Communication and results: I had obviously still in the resettlement the power supply switched. That the connector matches and the indicator lights up, so is not an indication that the PC is running and the power supply fits. A new power supply ordered together and can return. He runs! - That here as a reference for similar cases.
