Especially with ethereal music of Lisa Gerrads the effect on each person is different. Some find their music in general, "annoying", some may find this album specifically to uniformly. To me it has an incredibly calming, relaxing yet energizing effect. That is why we can only try for those interested, who do not know Gerrard to represent what kind of music makes this artist. Gerrard creates soundscapes, developed slowly melodies, the individual tones are played very powerful long (quarter or even eighth notes there is almost not here). These Gerrard sings with warm alto voice, often only vowel sounds, sometimes in ancient languages like Aramaic, very rare in English. Many of the songs on this album have something Sacred, sound like church services in a universal appeal to divinity or a song from a trance out. My favorite is the congenial "Paradise Lost", which sets Milton's epic soundscapes.
