Bartok: Piano Concertos No. 1, 2 and 3 (CD)

Customer Review

This recording goes for a reference, though wrongly in my view. Some have learned the Bartok piano concertos in this interpretation is one thing that prevents certain nostalgia to measure the limits is another. If you like the robot, this CD will fill you. If you prefer to compare, take for example the slow movement of the Second Concerto and go see what's going on with Kovacevich (which was still called at the time Bishop) and Davis. The difference leaps to ears then qu'Anda / Fricsay charge straight ahead, Kovacevich / Davis Philips spare his place in the dream. Bartok was a human being, did you know?
