Point 1)
The map was in fact up to date. So much for the positive feedback.
Unfortunately, one obtain the latest map material is useless if the Navi thus know what to do.
The device calculates in 90% of cases completely wrong routes.
My route configuration is as follows:
- Short route (not shortest !!)
Avoid highways NOT -
- No Zeitbeschraenkungen
- Avoid toll roads are not
- Speeds 25/50/120
Unfortunately, the Navi appears to have an allergy to highways. It derives a, if it really can not be avoided only one AB.
Worse: It wants at each first opportunity back down from the AB and the shorter but take slower route.
Ignoring the proposed (s) runs and remains on the AB, the still expected remaining travel time will be recalculated and behold:
It saves times fast for half an hour.
Unfortunately, the device itself is rarely on the idea of offering the really short route. Show comparisons with TomTom's, Google Maps, and a Navigon that all candidates are located largely in agreement in choosing the fastest route.
Only the Pioneer is permanently wrong.
That is, at best, still funny when you know exactly the route but then you actually need also no Navi. In unfamiliar surroundings but you always have a bad feeling and is a road atlas of paper usually better off.
This is the largest and most important point of criticism and makes the device almost unusable.
Oh, and the accuracy of position determination is also underground. Despite nearly optimal position of the GPS sensor and always 3-5 valid satellite signals, you drive often times a few meters off the road, or even completely off-road.
Point 2)
The iPod control works quite well, even with well-stocked library. Is AlbumArt TRANSFER reliable.
Unfortunately, the latter does not apply to plug-in SD card.
Point 3)
My mobile phone (a Nokia and HTC Touch Diamond 2) were easily connect via BT and submit the contacts.
Unfortunately, the use of the address book does not follow the well-known of the iPod control scheme. Scrolling because there's no longer, instead you have to press barely visible bar on the left side. Too Bad.
A course in software ergonomics to developers would have been good for sure.
Point 4)
Schoen was that I could reuse largely the adapters, cables and frame by HD3. Lucky.
All in all, good for the unit as Lonely remote control for an iPod. Whether you want to spend so much money for it, each self is left up.
As Navi there style of cooking is useless.
