The build quality is generally good. The housing of the transmitter and receiver are made (of course) made of plastic, but effect not fragile and are meticulously crafted.
The receiver has two buttons: a on-off switch and a trigger. The shutter button has two stages (first stage focusing, second stage trigger) and also works without batteries, which is important if you've only requires a cable release and the batteries are empty.
The cable is very short (28 cm) and adjusts the length of her well for mounting the receiver in the hot shoe.
The N3 to the Connector Device syringe kink protection (the cut-outs in plastic, which should make it pliable) is way too hard and does not fulfill its function. But that is unfortunately common in almost all of these connectors.
The on-off switch is a purely electronic button, not a real switch, ie a low standby consumption will be present. The button is slightly recessed so that the recipient is not quite as easy to turn on accidentally in your backpack.
The flashing red LED indicates that the receiver is turned on, is slightly too intrusive in my eyes and interfere with some situations. A small piece of black electrical tape makes here for help.
The transmitter has a slide switch for selecting the operating mode and the shutter, which is just like the receiver in two stages.
The slide switch is beginning to turn a bit awkward, as you like to slip a notch too far, and he also rattles when shaken slightly. The switch works but properly and you get used to it very quickly.
What I definitely miss the transmitter, is a switch. The shutter button is easy to press, I have concerns that at some point I put a little extra in your pack and the batteries are empty because of the permanently pressed shutter after a short time. I suppose, therefore, every time the batteries, which is annoying.
On the positive side, that both devices operate with standard AAA batteries. Other models use some of 12V batteries type 23A, which are more expensive and much less common. The range I've tested outdoors up to 20 meters and in the attachments range up to about 10 meters at two corners around and found no problems. The camera fires every time reliably.
Overall, a recommended Funkauslöser. One point deduction is available for the missing switch on the transmitter.
