The heating pad has preserved, unlike in the figure, an unpadded rubber Trapp for securing the neck portion of the neck. Add to that the sewn Velcro strips, which covers about half of the rubber Trapps. The whole is in the truest sense of the word "intolerable" - it rubs painful neck.
Lying down, without fixing, the heating pad may be useful, but only for that I have not bought it.
