User Interface: 4/5
Constructed and arranged relatively clear - if you know where is what, you're quick to find it, so 4 out of 5 points.
Operation: 3/5
After a few uses and a short adjustment period, I was familiar with the basic functions and could unaided even add new maps and even delete old.
Only bem set of pins or markers get my fat fingers in the way, since you can not put pins and label at the same time. So it was with me frequently to small piles on a desired or undesired target.
If you activate the GPS and the position search City Maps zooms in on one's own position, if it has found itself. That may be well intended, but if you just want to know in what direction an object is and had previously sought the goal by search function, then that is quite annoying, as the sought goal without flag as pin then disappears.
All in all still good, so 3 of 5 points.
Speed: 3/5
As a program with offline navigation the speed of loading a card is safe on the mobile phone itself, but it should be pretty quickly load on my new S3 map content. However, this takes quite long in certain circumstances (both in large cities, as well as in smaller areas). So for this point deduction.
Also reacting to changes in the zoom level (always necessary when activating the GPS - see above) sometimes takes quite long, for example, in deciding at which stop you have to get off the train annoying. Also it again penalized.
The self-discovery goes for amazingly fast, even in large cities such as Frankfurt, Berlin and New York with their urban canyons, which can also set the reception of GPS signals even some obstacles in the way. I find that in turn Super and therefore still 3 out of 5.
Cover / card: 5/5
Since you usually know in advance where to go on holiday or on business, located at the destination usually offers a hotel or another possibility to download the appropriate maps via Wi-Fi there is a perfect score.
The cards are clearly structured and visually well designed. The search function can be used well over the pre-set categories, and there are many landmarks with appropriate background information available.
If you're looking for a fast food restaurant, you will surely McDonalds and Burger King, but less directed to other chains (noticed in New York), for perhaps half a point deduction, makes overall still 5 out of 5 points.
Totaly: 4/5
Offline Maps on the go. I find it a good app and I will continue to use. Makes you navigate in unknown terrain easy. A blue dot indicates its own position to always reliably and download with the numerous opportunities maps of different cities will serve you best anywhere. The only way to get lost now is an empty battery. Beautiful app with small pitfalls that gets me 4 of 5 points.
I hope the review helps.
