This is due to the colors and minor defects in workmanship.
The colors simply sees the stain on too strong, a bit more natural look would have been nicer. Somehow the pattern acts like printed for me.
In addition, the corners of the fields fit spatially not always 100% accurate together.
The same applies to the corners of the frame, these soft inwardly about 1 mm from one another.
In addition, there are the printed (or glued?) Labels. These look as if they would say goodbye sooner or later.
Overall, the Board for the price is quite recommended if you are like me looking for a cheap entry-level product to dispose of the old chess game from the games finally and times to play "right".
Incidentally, I use wooden figures with a KH of 98mm. The size fits perfectly with the board.
