After I transferred a month ago from the Nikon D5100 on the D750, I was looking for a new wide-angle lens. Before, I on the 16mm 2.0 Walimex Walimex 10mm and 2.8 vowed to DX really great lenses. Therefore, I also drew zoom lenses into consideration that cover these focal lengths to full frame. The nächstliegendste solution was of course the Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8, however, does this not got a filter. Although the Nikkor 16-35mm 4.0 accepts filters, however this is a little too dim for Milky Way Photography. Other options were the 24mm 1.4 - lenses from Nikon, Sigma and Walimex. But in the end I was able to convince 20mm 1.8 with its slightly wider circle image with little distortion and its low weight, the Nikkor. Unfortunately, the lens is currently very difficult to find. When I happen to see it last week at the store, I immediately slammed!
After the first shots, I can confirm that the lens is really great! Already stung at f 2.0 and very sharp at f 8.0 sharp to the edges. In backlight conditions, the contrast by the remuneration is maintained and the light star look really fabulous. Ghosting and flares are not visible. CAs are also well controlled. The build quality is also very good, the lens hood is properly secured and the focus ring is well damped. Unfortunately, this has little game until the focusing attacks, but more bearable.
