This filter is again 64 times stronger, yet know very little color shift on (slight warming). From a moderate wide angle to telephoto the Firecrest even produced IRND4.8 only slight color shifts as in the top 10-level gray filters from other manufacturers (Hoya, B + W, Haida Pro II) occur. This is probably due to the new multi-layer design of the manufacturer. Restriction: For extremely short focal lengths (16mm on full frame, here Canon EF 16-35 f / 4 IS) generates the filter to the corners and edges toward a magenta cast. However, this can be removed via the radial filter in Lightroom. In my copy in the respective areas is a correction of -7 in the white balance and -70 in the green / magenta tint.
A loss of sharpness, I could not watch. Furthermore, the filter produces only very weak additional vignetting even at 16mm focal length at full frame.
The indication of the light attenuation of 16 stops right astonishingly exact. To estimate the magnitude: The filter makes it possible to expose 100 about 100 seconds in the sunshine at f / 8 and ISO.
