Especially with lenses with long focal length it is plugged in lens hood to attach the lens cap of the previous generation, a (short) fumbling and remove.
If things go very awkward, you then small scratches or greasy marks on the front cover of the lens or filter.

With this new generation of lens caps which is however no longer a problem.

Small drawback: since the new lens cap is significantly higher, the camera with lens attached does not fit in now in all bags.
This should be considered when buying camera bags when indicated in product descriptions or reviews that the camera lens with enstsprechendem "just so" purely fits in your pocket.
