If Mr. Kravitz rausbringt a new disc, the media and, often even before the CD on the shelves overturned, it hails all-round great reviews. I slowly really wonder who ever even listen to the music before writing such a review. -And No one notices that for years we actually keeps us Lenny fool! Let's face it (Kravitz diehard fan's listen now to get away), there is no CD of Lenny Kravitz, the consistently best material (ie five stars) delivers. On each and every one are one or two or more sagging. -But The one passes just deliberately, because, really, it's oh so creative Lenny us ...! Just as described, only with even more through hangers is "Baptism". That already starts with the cover to: The hemodialysis or Christening, and thus, almost compulsively induced connection to the "Lord of the Flies", is nothing more than a hollow commercialism gimmick. Someone Lenny told time by the legend of Robert Johnson (Hellhound On My Trail) us. -And Maybe Lenny has then also watched "Crossroads", and the case was for him, of course, clear: With such good music as he delivers (he has confidence yes), he has stuck somehow mit'm devil in league. Enlightened by this inspiration then was probably the cover art. Certainly it sounds now all bitter at. Should it also, because let me Lenny Kravitz always more. The man certainly has drained a lot of lace moderate songs. But a creative development does not seem to be possible with him. Normally, one would then say: cobbler stick to your last, Carry what you're good at! But no, Lenny macht'n trip here und'n trip there (the vilest is indeed the brother of rap JayZ) and none of these musical excursions is halfway credible. Filler; then nothing! What remains ?: "I Do not Want To Be A Star" is a really good take. Likewise, the ballads "Baptized" and "Destiny". But that is simply not enough for a long time for a good disc, because the rest is me, with all due respect, just too boring. So there's only two stars.
