Let's start first with unpacking and handling:
As I "5 in 1 Mix & More" had to find in the small, this device comes in a neutral white cardboard. Strange, when you see how these products are shown on TV in the most dazzling images and then so is therefore a sad cardboard. I do not mind very badly, but the suitability as a potential gift suffers a bit less.
The next impression is again characterized more positively. The fact, if one takes the jug inspected. But only the first impression. On closer inspection the very cheap interpretation of the cover of the refill opening falls on. Qualitatively this is more reminiscent of a dosing of the liquid detergent.
The container itself makes a solid, almost already siginificant. Negative is only slightly marked by grooves and paragraphs drive hub in the pot, which will facilitate purification not just.
The base unit looks quite chic at first glance, but again shows the further consideration that it is a cheap production. Sure, it's not a Thermomix, but if at the edges of the device, and the keys in particular the paint has been worn out, then you do not like even to think about how the unit looks after one year. Also it was noted that on top of the device, that is, where the pot is placed, corresponding grinding marks were visible. Fair to say that Amazon is one of the best suppliers and at present 122 Euro incl. Shipping one might forgive this shortcoming. But the partial demanded RRP of 299 euros is already to designate this in mind almost as brazen.
First Discipline: Vanilla.
According to a recipe, a mixture of milk, cream, egg yolks, sugar and vanilla seeds is heated to 80 degrees and be "deducted for Rose". Actually, the temperature for 84 degrees, but the device are only four temperature settings here: 40, 80, 100 and 120 degrees Celsius.
The mass I had mixed already in shaker. However, I have tried using the paddle to stir the mass, which turned out at the highest level as a problem because the mass was pushed to the side and penetrated through the cover. This happens with the other version, consisting of cutting and mixing cover not or hardly. I was again a little smarter. I laste not at the machine.
After the set of my time of 15 minutes, the mass was finished. But since she was quite runny yet, so the yolk had the mixture not yet thickened, which proved to be physical inevitability based on the measured temperature of 72 degrees, I increased by 5 more minutes on 100 degrees. This brought the desired effect. Professional chefs will clap their hands over the head together, but the result also convinced therefore reasonably, because this time the thickened mass, but was still homogeneous. As befits a mass of ice. The ice was also delicious.
Unfortunately, the mixture was ground again slightly burned, because also this machine, as well as the Mix & More 5 soil heated in 1 just half. A nationwide heating, as the kettle would minimize the tendency for scorching significantly.
Second Discipline:
Tomato soup
This time I did the cutting and stirring arm mounted and given 500 grams tomatoes, 0.2 liters of water and a bouillon cube into the device.
The stirrer was turned off, first, the temperature is set to 120 degrees, and the time to 10 minutes.
After this time I added a dash of cream and the mass püriert- highest level, 1 minute.
After the first reviews I had expected large pieces in bulk. But the only solid particles were tiny particles of the outer skin of the tomato soup. We found that not to be disturbing, much more than decorative.
Mind you, the tomatoes were cooked but soft. Annoying were the little splashes that invaded when mixing from the vent of the lid.
Third discipline: strawberry jam
300 grams of strawberries from the TK were first turn without stirring function boiled for 10 minutes at 120 degrees.
Then, 300 grams of sugar were added and the whole mashed one minute.
The result was a delicious jam.
Since the water content in the process was not very high, it also did not burn on. If one should add the sugar at the beginning, this would look certainly different.
Fourth discipline: stirring / kneading:
So much in advance: The power rating of 1000 watts may deceive some over the fact that the motor are only 150 watts of available.
Many a hand blender has double, or in the case of fairly inexpensive Kenwood Triblade, even with 700 more than four times as much power
Can prepare a pizza dough so you forgettable. A soft sponge gets the machine just so down.
I have not tested it, but also a short pastry is likely to provide an insurmountable hurdle out.
Ultimately, the assessment is difficult because how useful the Gourmet Max 06161 is, is highly dependent on the individual user's remit.
If you like finely pureed shakes and smoothies, will have his problems with the machine. Were more than enough power to handle a banana with milk and lemon to shake. However, it is my opinion, at the low speed, due to the reduction that can stir even heavy masses need that the machine itself is struggling to produce feststoffteilchenfreie shakes and smoothies. Here one is the 5 in 1 of Gourmet Maxx better off.
Powdered sugar, which is worthy of this name, you get to the 7 in 1 not materialize.
Positive note that you can clean the container much better. Against this background, the rugged drive hub is particularly annoying.
I fell a lot more, but I do not want to overburden the cost buyers.
Who has a specific question, this may leave in the comments. I will incorporate these points in the review if necessary.
I say, not really good. Not really bad.
