Customer Review

So I already have 2 predecessors the FOSCAM. The picture quality is a bit better here than in the FI8910W, but a quantum leap is not. The previous models could be operated reasonably well under Linux. That's no longer the case. It requires an ActiveX plugin. Thus, the camera must be set up under Windows. This is of course a considerable step backwards compared with the predecessor models. The camera has, incidentally, quite 802.11n support even if in the Amazon product description is only 802.11b / g.

First, the web interface working even without the plugin. However, there was no picture - you could only configure. That would have been not so bad, because I found the camera eventually anyway via smartphone (IPCam Monitor) will look at what works without problems. However, there was no motion detection option. After a firmware update the web interface now really works only on Windows - for there is then at least the Motion Detection option. Oh Well. All in all, not really matured this model and therefore 2 star deduction. In terms of hardware, but you get a solid camera as of FOSCAM usual that should be sufficient for most everyday monitoring purposes. Who needs a good Linux support in the web browser imperative should VLT. grab befitting a predecessor.
