I refer also to the recession by Mr. Schmitz. The camera is in the quality of service, the recording, the accessories and the robustness in our first impressions very good (we film for about 2 years with a Sony with a disc system). We have the Canon acquired in mid-December as early Christmas present. Sorry, we have encountered the same problems as Mr. Schmitz. The recordings can not be or only load unacceptably size or quality on our Mac Book Pro (4GB of memory, about 1 year old). The included software only runs on Windows and even after an intensive search in various forums, we have no way to transfer the data found on our MAC. We had looked at the camera at Photokina in Cologne in detail and the employees of Cannon had the simple data transfer options even mentioned separately. The retailer (via Amazon) could not help us and also the Canon Hotline has no solution at hand. We will return the camera now. Too bad, because the other qualities are convincing, but we are not prepared to act as beta testers! We can only advise everyone here to be seen and not to purchase this camera as long as the problem is not solved. If anyone here know a solution or feel compelled Canon here Flag this would be certainly very helpful for all. Greetings from Cologne
