But from the beginning:
For years, I am fighting against my very strong and dark beard, which is very dense and thick, especially in the mouth and chin area. I started my Rasierkarriere with electric shavers from Braun, who were quite satisfactory (but no more). A trip to Phillips in the late 80s of the last century ended unsuccessfully because the broad circular blade structure at least in my rather angular face not quite "in the corners" was - neither under the nose still on the neck. A few years ago I then gone over to the wet shaving and was convinced by the result, which was up classes on everything I was used of wet razors. Unfortunately, that could not stand my facial skin: After a few years flourished my facial skin with acne that has hardly boast a pubescent boy. So yet again an electric shaver.
The Braun 795cc is the haptic Mercedes among electric shavers. The shaving was initially good and gentle. But to get a 70% -gründliches shave, a multiple and strong is expressed shaving the same spot is required. After about 1 year I had to replace the head, as the shaving performance was still slumped significantly (and began to complain about my skin again). But their replacement is also not satisfactory. The result after 2 years: an expensive high-tech device to a high-end price, but achieved only a mediocre shave.
Then the trip to Panasconic (ES-LA93-K803): The "Whow effect"! In particular, the wet-shaving with this unit was impressive. A result that can be measured with a real blade wet shaving and little skin irritation. Unfortunately, the skin irritations were stronger with time and the shaving performance was noticeable after just a few weeks. I also had the often described in Panasonic shavers problems with the cleaning station that no longer dry. When the device then a few months later gave up the ghost, I sent it back within the first 6 months back.
Because of the good reviews I bought this unit from Philips.
# The feel and ergonomics of the device has only one impressed me positively. The unit fits comfortably in your hand and gives a very sophisticated look. Even the initially seemingly fragile shaving head turns out to be absolutely practicable robust out. The same applies to the cleaning station, the first conveyed doubts about its durability, but then convinces with reliability. In addition, it is not nearly as loud as the Panasonic. - Battery performance and comfort while shaving are absolutely convincing.
=> In my eyes only slightly behind the Braun 795 CC (4.5 of 5 points).
# The shaving performance was not comparable to the Panasonic right from the start. But unlike my experience about 20 years ago but Phillips has got the design-related disadvantages under control: With a little practice, I could well shave under the nose and neck. Unfortunately, this does not apply to sideburns that can not get any straight cutting edge with round-circular sound natural. All the more incomprehensible that Philips does not manage its top model to spendieren a useful trimmer: The on this device is simply a joke.
=> After also this machine uses the shaving performance after a few weeks was noticeably worse, I can forgive for shaving performance only 3 out of 5.
# When fully great I felt the skin compatibility of the device. Surely this is the pleasant downside of not as close shave. But a stress-free shave and a relaxed face skin is after decades of cruelty to a treat!
=> For the skin compatibility full 5 points.
Return # In the end I had the device, because the engine at some point no longer lies start (just like the Panasonic). And after Amazon has simply referred me immediately back the money, I will not know if it was a mechanical or electronic defect.
=> Because of the generous customer reaction of Amazon, the confidence-inspiring feel and my pleasant unstimulated facial skin in recent months, I'm ready, under the heading "may perhaps happen to anyone" be regarded as slip.
# Overall, a high-end device to a high-end price, the impressive development of old equipment from the 80's is in its construction, while the facial skin protects but only a mediocre shaving performance brings (and after only 7 months to Spirit gave up).
I'm going to yet again try a razor from Pansasonic ...
