Have the Hoya HD Filters brought glass for the 25-105mm (5D Mark II) (77m filter thread). Shots are exactly the same with or without the filter aufgeschreaubten. If you have expensive lenses in the fleet, one should not resort to cheap filter, because loss of quality in the image are then to be accepted. I speak from experience, because before I had a Uv filter of about 10 and they saw themselves on the 18-55mm kit (then in conjunction with the EOS 550D) slightly blurred images. Prefer something more to invest in return and a good lens protection obtained with excellent image results. The filter itself is very high quality, it is let for 77mm thin and dust or dirt particles and splashing water to wipe off easily with a lens cloth or microfiber cloth.
