Current Summary (as of 11/18/2014):
- 3D View: misrepresenting the road ahead on highways and country roads
- Speed limits: In many cases inaccurate.
- Trace display: On major highways often inaccurate.
- Finish: No further navigation to finish.
- After 4 weeks reported via Map Share Maps mistakes have still not been processed.
- Connection between smartphone and TomTom will indeed appear (their icons are not as easy to distinguish from each other), but it is when driving is very difficult to tell if an internet connection - from Smarthphne for telecommunications providers - besteh so well the current traffic data can be transferred ....

Firmware: 14.500.1724379.11 Europe v937.5903 (Published 09/2014) (review: 12/11/2014)
Have the TomTom Go 500 updated 3 days ago on the new version 14.500xxxxxx ...
- The 3-D representation is something besser..aber even something ...
- If the entered destination - the address - achieved, then the representation zommt out very far ... So you drive past at the destination to search in the area for a parking space, then you have to enter the destination again. In addition, the other road course to be displayed anymore ... Sorry ... That's not nice ...
- Many speed limits are still not aktuell..Man suspects like there at all highways is 100 km / h. In the village of greater 30 km / h zones not in TomTom are deposited ...
- The presentation at major highway - particularly A3 Aschaffenburg / Wallau - is in my opinion to very imprecisely and great need of improvement. Based on the representation of the upper arrows can be seen in some detail, which is to follow the many trails, but the actual display is the often not figure out.

The TomTom Go 500 is very easy to assemble and good stability on the windscreen. The display is easy to read - Contrast / angle - but it tends to reflect because of the smooth display surface.
The main menu I find very clearly laid out. Route and alternative route calculation is very fast.
The phone support is very knowledgeable and is customer-oriented / non-bureaucratic.
Unfortunately - might also be because I previously had a TomTom Start 60 - but bother me the following points so that the doubts I'm strong if TomTom is on the right track:
Many speed limits are in TomTom outdated, even though there are these for several years.
The display in the 3D mode is for me an absolute "No Go" ... Highway: 90% of all curves are called "straight" with 5 mm wide in the bottom of the screen and 2 mm width shown in the upper display area. This could, in my opinion at the selected TomTom presentation / aerial view of 60 - are 80 degrees.
The highway course is a "big gray colored and shapeless mass" with a thin blue stripe drinnen..Es is only felt 10% of the display used on the screen for displaying the route ... The TomTom Start 60 you could even with the densest fog - and probably go without light - because the route was very well represented by TomTom ... This is unfortunately not the case ...
Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict which update causes the pre-installed radar detector function - no subscription - no longer work on the device. I think a radar detector function with outdated data - date of purchase - should be placed in any case until the end of life of TomTom available because this indeed when purchasing - life long work - no more updates!
Summary: Love TomTom team asks take the presentation software from TomTom Start60 and adds that the menu and online services from TomTom Go 500 added. Otherwise, this is not one step forward, but there are 5 back ...
Since 1 star must be assigned in the evaluation ...
