"Zoot Woman" was album of the month in the Music Express and has inspired many people. After the - as I found - brilliant debut album "Living in a Magazine" I'm really looking forward to the sequel. Stuart Price was meantime concert keyboardist Madonna. I do not know if the supercooled sound of "Zoot Woman" comes along or not (at the time was the Madonna music heavily influenced by the French producer Mirwais), but for me, "Zoot Woman" like driving with the handbrake on. The instrumentation is much more economical than its predecessor, the songs "straighter" and a total of less trendy. "Grey Day" is a really good deal, even danceable, but because nothing drives - it is clinically. Really good I find next "Grey Day" only the last two pieces "Maybe Say" and "Half Full of Happiness", which both have a rather melancholy mood. Otherwise, I found the pieces partly really bad, such as the instrumental "Gem". Conclusion: A bit more power plant and less New Order or The Human League - more retro or more Mirwais and less charm. Because of the three mentioned pieces there still four points.
