To an older P4 whose IDE disk was overflowing on to equip a larger SATA drive, I ordered this controller. Installation is really simple and the features applicable. Unfortunately, that part is not bootable. It is recognized in the bios but not connected to it SATA drive. Is to say, only if the operating system via the internal IDE controller is powered up, the drivers for the CSL Controller are loaded and recognized the connected drives. If the CSL controller as the primary boot controller function, the BS must be reinstalled while the driver be involved on the SATA HDD connected to it. The stress I wanted to save myself and have used for my purpose the MANHATTAN 158282 SATA 300 Drive to IDE Converter Host.
The CSL Controller I still have a 2nd controller to keep u. A. the external eSATA port to use, which is functioning properly contrary to other statements. It is controlled by the jumpers. 1 + 2
Criticism there is the service behavior of CSL. There did not see you at first be able to answer my question on the boat capacity, citing the EOL of XP. Officially however, this is only in the case 08/2014.
