I thought for smaller or simpler things the machine was perfectly adequate and the name Singer I joined so far always with quality. My old machine of privilege (Source brand), which is similar, but even then for about half to 2/3 of the price of the Singer more MFP Options and functions had and has held at least a full 20 years now unfortunately being bitchy around. As a maintenance / repair quasi a "total economic damage" meant to me then came the offer from Aldi right now. I acquired the Singer Model 2250, which was sold as a "symphony". The problems that are described in the more negative reviews, I had 1: 1 in my well. To name a few: - Lower thread often forms loops, - Upper thread breaks always (independent of the selected voltage) from, - (To want even without the thickest fabrics sew) needle often breaks off, - During reverse sewing (especially when Kantenversäubern) the substance is transported incorrect and verknuddelt to a lump (if you do not respond quickly enough, which has also often the consequence that then stuck the needle or even breaks) - Has only times as a 'material lumps' formed the machine refuses to sew forward again, the engine whines and nothing happens - The sew slow (eg, when a seam begins o sew around the curve etc.), It happens regularly that the needle is so jammed at the bottom that you can hardly get out anymore, the handwheel blocked completely, usually breaks the needle or is at least as corrupt at the top, that it must be replaced - The straight stitch it sometimes happens that the needle 'hip aside' suddenly without reason - and then blocked again is - The handwheel and the "reverse" button (Rückwärtsnähknopf) are extremely difficult to move etc.
She was twice brought to the guarantee repair service, then after a few weeks told me that they could not find anything and everything works without problems. Initially, I still thought that I just too stupid place me, but because even a friendly dressmaker could reproduce the same mistakes that also separates out. I probably seem a machine from Monday Model Club to have.
Since I have this machine, I just annoyed me and a lot of money to spend & Yarn for new needles because they do not work correctly. I can think of a purchasing this machine only advise. Whether Singer generally produces poor quality or only the low-price segment cut so bad, I can not judge. But my experience with this machine mean that I now again have to take money into their own hands and me a "better" machine, but certainly no singer (!), Will buy.
