Outcast is not all bad, but the plot ... oh God ... the Jedi are declared enemies of the state because of Darth Caedus deeds and a strange mental illness that affects gradually individual Jedi (would be too easy to think of something new) , Luke pulls with Ben into exile (just as Outcasts) to fathom what Jacen Solo has experienced on his ominous journey to various power nations and then there's a storyline with the Solos in boiler posing some logic questions, but please. Aaron Allston writes usual routine, but the basic framework is far more modest, because all that much in the first volume does not. The Sith have unfortunately eg an appearance only in Volume 2. There is really no reason to read the whole book, Pity about the time. A summary of the net enough unfortunately.
I'll read as a fan, the Fate of the Jedi anyway until the end, but I am convinced that the Star Wars novels by various Missing decisions in the past (all male solo children dead, Mara Jade killed etc.) is no longer on track be back find.
Perhaps the successor series to extend to fewer books will be better, but that hope I had already by the Legacy series.
Conclusion: For fans ok, but everyone else read it anyway.
