Let's get to the important, and the reason for 0 stars: Coil Whining! A high Fiebton, or a mechanical scratching that can be heard under load. Buyer, I knew nothing about it yet, after my purchase (before the computer arrived) I certainly have read in some forums about it. "Not so bad, I thought to myself ..." I should deceive me. The sound is incredibly annoying and constantly listening to the daily work! In the XPS 15 is a 2000-Computer! Such noise is of course totally unacceptable! Maybe I would not have taken off all points of this device, if not, the following would have happened. Phone, at the Dell hotline you promised me that you would work on a solution to the problem, and that these would be available soon. Months and some service calls later, because the bone often come with other (recoverable) problems, it should be done: DELL had a solution! A technician came by, replaced the motherboard and I was left with my 2000 computer, the now no longer fiebste but in double volume mechanically scraped in the same place, whistled and hissed!
Dell should be ashamed for this device into the ground! To promise customers a solution to spread this and nothing at all to solve, is really ridiculous and embarrassing for a company - would think. Individual case? Forget it! All users it is so! On demand at Dell is said that the sound ok, as long as you can not hear from the other end of the room there and you can drown it with movies and music ... Do you comment on that? Do I as a customer Dell declare that I have not bought a 2000 computer to watch a movie next to my work, just so noise is eliminated?
The only hope: That one is so old and so the ear so numb that you can not hear the sound, the still (relatively) high frequency is yes!
Goodnight XPS.
