- Good metal album with some strong songs, but with too little Manowar feeling. Opener is an example a great power metal song that is not representative but for me for the band. The, in my opinion, only "classic" Manowar anthem represents for me "El Gringo". This song has all typical Manowar trademarks.
- What annoys me übelst on the album, is the permanent use of distortion effects to the guitar sound. Hey, we're talking about MANOWAR, the guardians TRADITIONAL METAL-GRAIL! So NEN cheese I let in New-metal bands like, but with a band that describes itself as TRUE, which for me is an unforgivable NO-GO!
- The good Eric Adams with his (soon) 58 years now seems to have problems with the high vocal layers, since its charismatic head voice is almost inaudible on the whole album. Too bad, because it is precisely this element of his horny voice coined the typical Manowar sound.
Despite the above criticisms, I am nonetheless pleased to hear something new from my former hero. I hope I do not have TRUE-Manowar fan offended in his honor or stepped on the tie. Fans of the first hour to buy the album anyway blind (like me too). However, for Manowar newcomers I recommend continuing the Manowar reference "Kings of Metal". Cheers to all & Scott Hail to Columbus!
