Grinding is effective, including large branches (4cm). It is not possible to put bigger through the opening. I very rarely jams. The relatively narrow opening (security) does not make the grinding quickly. You must enter the branches one by one or a little more but not handle. This is still really useful, the practical result is to light a barbecue, and to feed the compost mulch for vegetable (although can be a bit much)
