Not so powerful that the com's say ....!

I bought this Wifi key here based on the quantity (impressive) positive reviews written by previous guests.
I regret it because once plugged into my laptop (Linux-Ubuntu), it captures nothing (zero bar!), While the wireless receiver integrated in my laptop (and sold originally), picks him least 1 and even 2 Wifi signal bars being placed in the same place ... but this internal receiver works, he, in XP!
Having installed on my laptop 2 x OS "Linux Ubuntu 13-10" in parallel with XP (native), I could not use Linux with integrated Wifi configured for Windows from the beginning ...!
Hence the control key that the Daffodil (one of the few) accept Linux without driver installation?
Unfortunately this key performance I believed in the words of other customers, do not pick up the WiFi network under Linux (within 10 m of the box) while the (low quality!) That is built into my laptop (as in Most laptops sold commercially) arrives there quite well ... in XP!
So, I'm going to have the revoyer to Amazon and to find a more "sensitive", with booster antenna eg ...
Please note that by installing in my laptop Windows XP- -under driver software from the mini CD, this key Wifi works perfectly ...! On this CD there is also a pilot for "Mac" or "Linux" (the same for these two OS: strange ?????) but impossible to install Linux !!!!
