Stiff Upper Lip (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Angus Young has once he had his "Great Ball of Fire" is not written yet. Well, it is certainly not here. AC / DC have here Vedas rock'n'roll yet reinvented itself, but the plate is a solid rock album that makes largely fun, no hurts and is also suitable for newcomers.
Among the songs:
Stiff Upper Lip - Lowkey Intro, beginning with a bang. One of the musical highlights.
Meltdown - slow, rather boring.
House of Jazz - Easy Indian tinged clock, then simple chorus, then back to its original clock. Pretty good.
Hold me back - Intricate guitar, the simple but beautiful melody playing, and pounding drums form a nice contrast. Acts.
Safe in NYC - exciting reef, basically strong piece, would have even more aggression used (such as Given the Dog a Bone)
Cant stand still - Flaky loose lead guitar, good atmosphere, splendid Mitwipp rhythm. You'll can not stand still. :-)
Cant Stop RnR - A musical highlight. Strong start, then a transition back to the chorus all again fully there. Basically simple (see glossary under "AC / DC"), but very good.
Satellite Blues - The beginning arouses hopes of a firecracker, which are only half fulfilled the chorus, finally out quite audible solo work of Angus.
Damned - Slowly, evil. Second guitar comes quite effectively after the first half minute to do so. In chorus, the hopes of the previous song fulfill. But remains slow and stomping. Good.
Come and get it - Cooler beginning, occasionally played guitar melodies in simple harmonies. Slower rhythm like Damned, the Chorus Malcolm must once again croak a little. For Solo increasing intensity, which remains until the end.
All Screwed Up - riff rolls zoom quite sharp, even drummer Phil Rudd gets to the chorus its (short course) moments for solo significant voltage increase.
Give it up - feel-good rocker, good bouncer.
The overall sound I would have liked much rougher, that would have some songs where the bite, which they should have from the composition ago. But is does not stop.

My favorites on here are the title track, Hold me back, cant stand still and cant stop RnR.
The board gets four stars because it is better than Flick of the Switch and Fly on the Wall, and these albums have received three stars. (Less than three I as a fan of this band just do not give.) I would recommend but rather Powerage, High Voltage, Let There Be Rock, Highway to Hell or Back in Black. And who wants to hear a good AC / DC disc from after 1981, buys better The Razors Edge or Black Ice.
