"Zooropa" is just like the cover looks like: At first glance, slick, dull and poppy. And on closer listening they can still; the album turns out to be the preview as a nice experiment. The title song passes pretty good one, "Babyface" is really used to, but not exactly bad, "Numb" and "Lemon" are initially dull, but become visible at further examining and depositing the prejudices as rational songs. Although they are both guaranteed not meant seriously overly ... "Stay" is a classic U2 song with nice increase, "Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car" with its industrial techno beat is completely unusual for U2, but still good. "Some Days Are Better Than Others" is a great, funny arranged number, my favorite on this album, "Dirty Day" is actually good only on the remixes. "The Wanderer", sung by Country veterans Johnny Cash, has a brilliant text and with repeated listening, it is also quite pretty; of course, always be regarded as the rest of the album with a wink. U2 writhe with "Zooropa" and a lot of irony from which you have to discover first, and they will lose even more charm than with "Achtung Baby!" and already "Rattle and Hum", but somewhere the album is interesting - and audibly.
