Once again, a movie about a spiritual issue must strike a balance between mainstream and truth. And once again smears were made in the latter. (As with "7 Years in Tibet") Pictures are opulent and fabulously, adapted the key messages of the Buddhist view of the existence of all existence and incarnation and nice bite-packed in the paper thought the Western Christian world. The real significance of the path and goal of Buddha is equalized, nothing special-one of many ideas just do-gooders. Pity about the wasted potential. But it is also a not-fulfilling endeavor to try to represent the Buddha's enlightenment and the theme reincarnation logically comprehensible in a movie. Maybe it was not the serious goal - now - so just a thoroughly entertaining film has become of it. Who wants to go beyond mere entertainment addition, the open all other ways, such as books or Buddhist centers.
