This novel is a sacred "pad" - nearly 800 pages- written small, while those that it scares run off, the adventurous can stay and they are right. For this book is very pleasant to read. We feel that the story is worked, the author really has talent. Some clues about the further adventures are scattered from the beginning, but we do not immediately understand that it is precisely for clues. It is only when the action happens you tell yourself, "Ah! Of course! It was obvious from the beginning. "
This book lays the foundation for what will be what might be called the "true story", one that will probably be the main theme of the trilogy. But we do not mind one bit. Imriel We follow the main character in his life learning and intrigues with him, laugh with him, you cry with him, is furious with him, in short we really share his emotions. It happens to many adventures to this poor boy. At first you may think that it is accidental, but we finally understand that everything has more or less connected with the famous theme and I found it really very successful!
We learn a little about the biological mother of Imriel, blood prince despite himself, and becomes more and more interesting and yet so mysterious because we know practically nothing about her. We do not see the whole story and yet it is there. Is she manipulates everyone ready or does one of them acts that are not of his making? I look forward to learn a little more, even much more on it!
The other characters that Imriel meeting are equally interesting, many are endearing, others less' but all have a way to get our attention. Each has its particularity makes it so human or otherwise, inhuman. Which brings us to appreciate it or hate it. Characters, therefore, very successful and colorful.
This volume combines humor and gravity. As previously mentioned, reading, we smile, we laugh, but also crying, especially because the characters are so successful they get to touch us emotionally. I had several times in tears during my reading.
Finally, one thing that I really appreciated, especially in such a big book where it is sometimes difficult to remember all the details is that lorsqu'Imriel think back to a conversation he had earlier or words, the exact terms are recalled to the reader.
The only small thing I could criticize is the Harlequin side a little at times. But that's not the worst of action, "alongside" story is interesting enough that we pass the sponge over this detail and finally, it seems to me that these are passages almost necessary to the story. I can not explain why, but I felt like one. This is the mentality of Terre d'Ange, the birthplace of Imriel whose main motto is "Love as you understand it." Some speak of erotic passages and not pornographic, not being an expert on the issue, I will acquiesce to their judgment '
Finally, a book to be read when you love the genre, just like me. By cons, if you plan to read the first trilogy, wait, because there are still lots of information about what happens in the three previous volumes. I recommend this reading to all others. I was a bit skeptical at first about what I would find, but eventually I enjoyed my reading!
