Nu Soul / R & B meets Hip Hop

Customer Review

Nu Soul / R & B meets HipHop: only that here meet two of the largest major genres of contemporary black music, making the drive a classic. Add to that the wide variety of track types: Although the Jiggastyle of Jay-Z has clearly prevailed in producing, but it is also a very soulful Skit-number in the typical style of R. Kelly, the only solo by the way. Otherwise stand out above all the groovy but thoughtful "It is not personal," the melancholy gloomy "The Streets" or party songs like "Somebody's Girl" and "Get this Money", both in "Fiesta" style. The Kollab with Lil'Kim is a bull's eye: sexy, groovy, funky. Weaker are the decoupled "Take you home with me" or "Honey", which are too monotonous. About the overall picture of the album can only say that although there are simply too short (49 minutes), if one has but to be heard, you need this disk because it is everything you could want as Black Music Freak: sexy, with a dash of good R & B tunes, the soul voice of R'Kel, the Jigga style of Jay-Z and hard, groovy hip-hop beats. Lyrically often Nelly-moderately, but often also very thoughtful to depressed. Perhaps not a legend, but is still a cool disc
