The printer is cleaning the print heads independently of the cartridge (can not be correct). This makes it very often and quite loudly, so that the low noise mode for complete nonsense (what are they thinking with that?). In these operations, ink is consumed. This ink ends up in a so-called ink absorber which is actually a sponge or something; when it is full can no longer print and you can throw away the printer or "fix" can be, which of course will cost as much as the whole printer (probably you can also run through the botch itself, but is not documented, as already mentioned). However, this should be the case only after thousands of printed pages, so for years (hopefully).
What I personally find it just somewhat annoying is that this is not configurable. It is in these cleaning operations eventually not to the printer, but these funny disposable cartridges. It really my thing if I let the dry or not, anyway, I do not like such a compulsion. Ultimately, it's no matter if I have to buy the new, because they are dry or as nonsensical in many cleaning processes the ink has been used up, folks from Canon - the second variant of the printer is indeed almost destroyed, not the first. Let me ask the decision. Show me when installing a message "Do you want the automatic print head cleaning, which makes their broken printers after some time (recommended, you brain-dead consumers)".
As I said, otherwise the part is not amazing but OK. Only I am about this forced cleaning when switching, when Unignore and after or / and before every printing (where is the logic?) So annoyed that I items, cut it right here and give you a star. Perhaps by waking times' n few people, which are responsible for something.
