Exciting book as chronic type "riff": short and effective. It highlights albums and groups that are not necessarily of clichés of the genre, others who are not recognized at fair value. Thus cross between Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, people like Sweet and Suzi Quatro who yet - on some albums - showed strong musculature but were unjustly forgotten in the hard rock pantheon. In foreword, Thierry Aznar gives a fairly personal definition of the different styles (rock, hard rock, heavy metal, death metal, etc.) that is worth what it is worth but which has the merit of clarifying and simplifying its approach. In addition, it is well written, with a lot of fluidity. The few anecdotes and other slices of life that pepper the book are never free and serve the purpose well. Once opened, you coward no more, even if you are not a fan of this type of music: what is told just feed the knowledge of the rock culture in its entirety. Highly recommended.
