When unpacking a first round forms and the quite well-done design fall on. Some metal covers and metallic painted plastic parts put good accents. For me personally, the appearance is not so important but the thing you have to look so in his kitchen and therefore it does not hurt at least when it has such a certain retro chic here some years.
After unpacking my living room table is filled with essays, stirrers and inserts. Philips delivers a complete package here. According to my research, there are also not to buy additional accessories. The machine itself and also the bowl seem to me to be processed quite well. With some accessory I am skeptical. The dough hook and the K-hooks are suspicious easily and in no case made of stainless steel. The Standmix essay looks pretty cheap and there is almost only made of plastic. The Food Processor (newspeak for hoeing, friction and cutting attachment) on the other hand seems a bit high even though me the sheet of plastic in which you can click in various friction and cutting inserts me is something thoughtful.
The structure of the machine is clever (but mostly stolen by Kenwood). The arm folds nicely away backwards and to the side simultaneously. That's well thought out because in my Kennwood he only works backwards then what you need behind and above the machine a lot of space. On the top are behind the three metal covers three connections for accessories. They are translated differently. Normal Front slowly and powerfully for example, a meat grinder, back quick for eg the blender and in the middle for example the Food Processor. The operation is done by a simple rotary knob for speed (and thus the switch on and off) and a button which can fold up the arm.
Now the actual test. In my opinion, incredibly annoying and at the same time a tough test for a food processor: pizza dough. He is nicely elastic it must be kneaded long. This creates the Philips machine. The recommended first step the plastic arm stiffened though but pretty and the engine rumbles a bit on the countertop around. But after 15 minutes I got my dough. Next test: Mouse au chocolat. Cream and egg white hit. works well. However, one should not want to start like other machines under two egg whites or a cup of cream more. Third Test: crudités. Carrots on the fine grater go. There really come out fine pens and no mud. The white cabbage on the coarse grater also works well and the cucumber on the cutting disc also. However, just at the very large carrot offcuts remain. Wrinkles around sometime and then simply pulled in the space of disc and cover. The same thing happens when white cabbage with individual sheets.
You should buy this machine? With food processor it's like with cars. Who runs once a week for shopping 2km need not buy a Mercedes. By that I mean: Who really even prepared every week a yeast dough or can imagine it (place in the dishwasher vorrausgesetzt) to use for cooking the food processor everyday, you should rather spend more 100-200, take a little less accessories in buying and buy machine with stainless steel parts. The longevity because of (that I see at the device here that is critical), and because you have more fun with it. Who wants to do every now and then times a Katottensalat (or similar) and the complete package of accessories still have or simply do not want to spend that goes right here. The advantage of Philips opposite the Bosch MUM5 is I think in the kneading. Who does not need should grab my opinion more favorable to Bosch.
