The best quality recording mode is the 1080p / 25 od. 30 fps. (H264 codec, about 20 Mbit / s) This, however, is less suitable for real "action". The resolution 1080P / 50 od. 60 fps (also about 20 Mbit / s) suffers from aliasing (including raster or aliasing) and lower detail resolution.
I've also been a (snorkel) dive behind me - everything tight and with no condensation
As Androidjünger I could not test the remote also (because not yet available).
Lapse + Slow Motion needs to be tested - but is a nice gimmick
Positives:
+ Compact size
+ Simple handling
Negatives:
-Aliasing In 50 / 60P mode
- (Yet) Android Remote Control
Desirable would be an improvement of the codec in the 50 / 60P mode.
Conclusion: useful Actioncam with potential for improvement
Addition to firmware 1.1.4:
The firmware 1.1.4 did not improve the disturbing aliasing. It looks as if the encoder in 1080p / 50 the straight and oblique lines may not dissolve properly. I hope the developers get the more out.
The support is very good. Upon request, the planned improvements in the range 50P I received the following info (excerpt):
Hello,
the X7 works with variable bit rates. In 1080p / 25/30 is the maximum 22mbit in 1080p / 50/60, it is 24Mbit. We are working hard to improve the quality of higher frame rates, but there are also other manufacturers as limitations. The last update has already brought in 1080p / 500/60 improvements, but there's more.
That 1080p / 25/30 are hard to use for action shots, we do not see all that. I am sending you like to an excerpt from the video of the Supermoto training at 20Mbit per WeTransfer to - that was made completely in 1080p / 30 and suffers only on Vimeo compression.
Best regards,
xxxxx
