You still marailler to capitalize. It is not complicated but there ades things to discover because there is no doc about using this dock. The only docs supplied (in English and poorly printed) only concerns the cloning software which I have no use for the moment; so I spend ... There is everything you need in the box except the e-SATA cable (one can do without it after use). Be careful not to lose unpacking the little black jumper to configure the HDD. The supplied power cable is European. Do not hesitate to force to go all the way into the base of the PSU: after a couple of manipulation, things are better but can also leave. USB connection (1, 2 or 3; it works), you can use any (memory cards, IDE and SATA HDD). In conection e-SATA, one can not join the SATA HDD. Whatever the connected device via the dock, allowing time to your PC's reconnaîtres (it says when it's done). Work on memory cards is not a problem (SD-HD will also work). When you connect (and disconnect) HDD SATA or IDE (one disc at a time !!!), it must be done off Dock (inter rear). Once connected, the HDD is recognized after a few seconds. If it does not, is that the HDD may have a problem. Please note, IDE HDD must be configured in "master" (hence the little jumper in) or they are not recognized. If problem still check with the "Disk Manager" windows, or better, complimentary soft and powerful "Active Partition Manager" (in English, but very simple) if there really is a problem. Do not rely on the "File Manager". The SATA drive (2.5 or 3.5 ") fit easily into the dock connector. I've had no problem connecting with my various discs (but I do not have all existing models). For IDE disks, that's another story ... (do not forget to put them into "master") HDD IDE 2.5 "are not easy to insert because it is easy to fall beside the proper connector A little trick:. Once you have well covered and put the first as it should, paste two small marks (tips label) directly on the dock to define the template (width) of the disc. Then the following, it will immediately better! HDD IDE 3.5 "are easier to insert ... when they return! With Maxtor, Hitachi, Samsung, no problem. As against the Western Digital refuse to return (do not force failing to break the base IDE) . The only solution is to go through two adapters (extensions) electric, one for power and one for MOLEX IDE connection (male female in both cases). And even the extension of the solution will preserve the bases of the dock that seem fragile and wear out quickly. Anyway, I hope it will help you in your choice. Nevertheless, I recommend this product even if there should be some accessories to take full advantage of its versatility. Quick delivery (two days), but a bit light packaging.
