I know (current state of knowledge, I am not DeLonghi) compatible ESAM models with filter preparation:
- ESAM 6600EX: 3 Primadonna (new model !, Source: spare parts supplier)
- ESAM 6620EX: 3 Primadonna (new model !, Source: spare parts supplier)
- ESAM 6750 Prima Donna Avant chrome (Source: spare parts supplier)
- ESAM 6900 (Source: spare parts supplier)
I own a ESAM 5500 and am up to this point extremely satisfied with the device. What really upset me is the information policy of DeLonghi in the case of water filters. Since rumgeeiert to go no longer, apparent compatibility suggested by "66xx" and left the customer in the dark.
Dear people of DeLonghi: Give nevertheless please times the clear statement from that old ESAM models are constructed contrary to the manual / Description of the machine is not for water filters and therefore never a filter can be mounted!
Fact: The water tank of most ESAM models (exceptions: see above) is by design not to include a water filter in the position. The intake opening towards the machine is misplaced (rear bottom on the side wall). The opening should be at the bottom of a filter in the tank. In addition, a seat for the filter must exist. This is in most ESAMs not the case (exceptions above).
Fact: Software and operating instructions for the most ESAMs were never revised or corrected from DeLonghi. In the software the ESAMs and operating instructions can be found "filter" field. The filter was being considered before production of ESAMs, but never implemented.
Fact: Recent ESAM models of higher price level (see above) have received a newly constructed water tank containing a filter mount. Googling you time for "ESAM 6900 water tank" images and compare it to the water tank of your "old" or favorable ESAM. You will notice that the water suction was transferred from the side on the ground and is now surrounded by a kreisunden filter holder. Just so is a filter assembly at all possible.
