OMFG. Not Ayreon or Star One, but awesome.

An album, two versions. Gentle is the folky, quiet variant Storm loud heaviere. 100% Arjen, harmonies, tempo changes are simply unmistakable. But the story, the visual presentation, Anneke's voice and the perfect instrumentation make from The Gentle Storm something very, very special!

After I was able to watch them twice live, my assessment has shifted somewhat. That does not change the rating, but maybe on the approach and the two CDs: Having more often the "Storm" have now heard version, the "Gentle" version has been shown as the perfect complement: Knowing the Storm version (and likely the taste of typical Ayrton / Arjen-listener take significantly more of the instrumentation and hardness), then the Gentle version is a wonderful alternative for a different mood. Anders, soft, but nevertheless usual. Maybe this helps one or the other listeners in the approach ...
