Let It Reign (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The Libertines return later this year back, is currently taking up their new songs and suddenly pushes a Mr. Barat Libertines second frontman, with his Jackals still between his own record. But from the moment it fits well quite well. "My goal was to explore an unknown side," says Barât about his past, six-week 12-hour recording sessions in a small Stuio. Dont touch me, you're a marked man now / You can say goodbye to the load profile in town, he croaks then directly in the opening piece 'Glory Days', and thus begins his punk swagger - almost in the sense of the Libertines.

'Let It Reign' was recorded in Los Angeles with The Bronxs guitarist Joby J Ford and a motley crew of punks. For example, the ex-drummer Arod Alexander von My Chemical Romance or the Childish Gambino bassist Ray Suen. The best songs on 'Let It Reign' reveal the harsh forces in him, an irresistible combination of brisk riffs and hard texts on the wartime past of his country, accompanied by a disarming attitude and the charming British accent. There are 10 short, snarling tracks with a respite during the nostalgic 'Beginning to See'.

'War of the Roses' is outside the anthem for all vagrants there, 'War of Roses' is the most ambitious song Barat and certainly has the mitreißendste melody. "Give me your last line," says Dave, "and I'll give you my dog". The man is in shape and presents us with 'Let It Reign' anything but a placeholder for the upcoming Libertines album.
