We are relatively satisfied with the grid, because it is quite handy in our case: We can open it completely and do not trip-free threshold and use the entire passage. The disadvantage I find that the door does not revert to its own. Our large children must always be reminded to close it. Biggest gripe, however: The grid includes theory, by being hooked in a separate bracket up and down. With us, the grid does not close properly secure because it often does not lock down, but only above. If you then press vigorously, the gate goes on but easy. That would be me for a staircase much too dangerous (with us is only a passage secured it, so it is no tragedy if would fall over the toddler with the unyielding gate). I suppose one could perhaps better care by an even more precise Einbauch that the door not only locks up, but always well below ... us is but failed. Because of the potential danger of stairs only 2 points from me. We must always hooking up with a lot of feeling and consciously make sure that is both engaged top and bottom - our big kids create not regularly and I find the extra effort annoying.
