All songs were written by then the Stones themselves.
The opening track "Sad, sad, sad" is a straightforward and faster Stones- Rock and Roller, like you're used to him in the band.
"Mixed Emotions" was quite rightly the best-selling single of the album. The innovative song has hymn-like character.
"Terrifying," a slower song, and served again more the 80s years- taste.
"Hold on to your hat" is a true masterpiece of the Stones: a rock and roller, in which the post is really going on. My favorite on the plate!
"Hearts for sale" is adapted to the typical spirit of the 80s years, and reminds me a little of the "direstraits".
"Blinded by love" is again a calmer Country- number.
"Rock and a Hard Place", is a rock and roll number, in the style of numbers the way they seem familiar to us from the previous albums.
"Can not be seen" is a faster, very melodic number, well sung by Keith Richards.
"Almost Hear You sigh" is more of a ballad again. Not bad.
With "Continental Drift" remember the Stones their long-dead band member Brian Jones, who had also worked with the Moroccan flute accompanying band. The song works but not very unusual, but also inappropriate for the Stones.
"Break the Spell" has a classic rock and roll rhythm.
"Slipping Away" is once again the ideal final number of Stones- album. Sung by Richards, this wistful ballad somewhat reminiscent of David Bowie.
CONCLUSION: Once again, an all around successful Stones- album where the Rock and Roll predominates, and that seems about to burst with energy and creativity.
In the '80s the second best album of the Stones, for "Tattoo You"!
For Rolling Rock and roll fans Stones- and definitely a must!
