Sony SAL-35F18 lens 1.8 / 35mm (55mm filter thread) (Accessories)

Customer Review

To keep it relatively short, because actually everything is already said, only so much:

The lens is one of the best lenses, which I've tested and used! I am Event photographer and thus photograph mainly people in relative proximity. And right there playing the SAL35F18 its strengths! There is even at maximum aperture yet rattenscharf! Stopped down to f2 I have wonderful results and, surprisingly, I can do with f2 better group shots, Tamron 17-50 f2.8 than my having maximum aperture F3.2 or - they are simply sharper and the focus sits 100% to give more leeway gets in the depths, yet as soon as objects from the focal plane are out, gets a beautiful bokeh.

In landscape photography (which with 35mm on APS-C eh not so much sense does), it has his little problems with CAs and sharpness, but I have other lenses.

The only downside for me are the 35mm, because then you get in full Events major problems. Therefore, I am looking for a long time a fixed focal length with less focal length (and equal / greater aperture) and have quite a few tested (Sigma 30mm, 28mm and 24mm - Sony has in the (focal length and aperture) area, unfortunately, nothing below 1000) came and NONE even remotely serve up some quality of SAL35F18! That's a pity, but shows the superior quality of this lens.

In short, the objective is perfect for low-light photography and people is the best thing you can get for Sony in the focal length range below 1000.
