The execution in the cheap carton and their problems are known, that is why I used so far and only as a bridging solution tinkered.
After the well-known wrinkle problem obviously precipitated massive than assumed they had been thinking about their elimination and for some time there is the iSaver in a plastic tube. The thus ordered iSaver came via Amazon equal to a few days after my order, well packed to. The Tube of sturdy plastic guaranteed upon receipt of a proper condition of the protective sheet itself and can later be used as a transport container eg for small parts
The cloth itself is soft enough and yet stable. The top is similar to a high-quality microfibre cloth, the bottom has an equally light gray rubber coating that has been printed with common keyboard shortcuts dark gray. Placed on the MacBook Pro Retina 13.3 the quality complements perfectly the quality of workmanship of MBPr and acts in no way like a foreign body. The fit I would rate as excellent because when closing the display bears not on this protection cloth. The gap dimensions of the housing are the same, as if no protective cloth would be placed - not pinched or pressed.
The build quality of the iSavers in my opinion is at a high level. All cutting edges are designed very clean, there is also a closer look at absolutely nothing to complain - just as it should be.
Of course one could complain about the price, and of course the iSaver is not cheap, but I'm nothing else good fitting and visually appealing - less money - known. So the choice was not difficult and I do not regret a penny of my investment that I the Macbook Pro Retina 15.4 indulged in another order. There, too, the iSaver fits in the execution 15.4 and can be considered as a good investment.
Whether and how this is true also for the version in the carton, I can not say, because alone the impression of a rather uncharitable and cheap packaging variant could not move to buy.
