About 3 months ago, coinciding with an H7 LED LENSER, I bought the Tikka2 of Petzl.
The LED LENSER H7 is really impressive light, but I can not save them from a nasty fall.
Why this is so, and why it applies to all headlamps, I have "false security" described in the relevant review for H7.
In addition, I have been repeatedly approached by oncoming joggers that they were too blinded, although I had always behaved inclined my head.
The Tikka2 now is not so much light, as many other "searchlight", but it is sufficiently bright and illuminates the field against a pleasantly smooth, with gentle brightness decrease towards the edge of.
As joggers me not interested in what can be seen in 50 or 100 meters, but it is the region important to about 6-10 meters.
However, for cycling, I would recommend a lamp with a little more focused and reach.
The Tikka2 worn very comfortably. The headband is wide and relatively soft, but it keeps the light bulb very safe.
Since the headlamp is very light, I can not tell the difference from the above-mentioned lamp with rear battery compartment in comfort.
The two levels of brightness with additional flashing stage are really adequate and simple to operate.
The three stages are activated in sequence by. If, however, after the switch operation for about 3 seconds waiting, one on each level of the lamp. This comes in handy.
An additional dimming or zoom function would not be necessary but rather disturbing for Jogging / Running.
To prevent unintentional activation, the switch of most lamps are unfortunately quite difficult to move.
However, I would like to see a little smoother switch.
Two little quirks has the Tikka2 yet:
- The beam is mainly in the center, slightly bluish, but mainly strikes on a white background.
- It seems a little light through the housing down so that one has the impression of moonlight from above on the face.
The second point (if it bothers) you can fix with some packing tape or sticking plaster.
And now a point that I consider essential:
It was sporadically criticized the somewhat weak light performance.
I can not confirm because my Tikka2 is the brightest lamp in our great running group.
However, you can tune a bit the lamp, if you take batteries used batteries.
For the technically minded (simplified) explanation:
Batteries have a higher internal resistance, thus falls under load, the voltage from more than with batteries.
In addition, falls in a battery until needed end the tension anyway continuously.
If you want to throw away a half-full / half-empty battery but already, so you use the battery until the dark end.
Has a battery, although inherently a lower cell voltage, but falls at the load substantially less, and is virtually constant over time.
A battery can be recharged after each use again, so you always "rays" at full power.
I've tried it, the use of battery makes Tikka2 visible light.
The use of battery is also provided in the description for Tikka2 and allowed.
I can really recommend the Tikka2 for joggers, because I use them even several times a week in different geographic areas and am very satisfied.
