I have now for over a year, the Surface Pro 1 with blue Touch Cover (no retractable keys, felted material), was therefore for some time abroad and but had to admit that the Touch Cover for a period is not a good solution and it quite fast wear of average use. The advantages are obvious for me: with the haptic feedback of retractable keys it writes pleasantly and quietly. I bought the keyboard here on Amazon for 70 instead of the usual 130. Although the keyboard layout is not exactly the same as a standard German (instead of "ß" is on this button an apostrophe), which experienced keyboard user but does not interfere if the keyboard language is correct. Who buys the Orignal at full price, this problem has probably not.
A star deduction gets the product from me due to some me personally important flaws: Unlike the Touch Cover the back of this type cover is a fuzzy felt surface. In addition, the keys feel something delicate. Furthermore, I find the magnetic holder slightly weaker than the my Touch Covers, and the keyboard on the device itself somewhat shaky, which is certainly to be explained by the slightly higher weight of this type cover.
