I bought the set as inexpensive as possible "handset replacement" for an existing phone. The answering machine contained is not needed by me. The units are meticulously crafted, have a bright display and standard batteries. Any additional functions are not important to me. The startup was simple and straightforward. Unfortunately, the labeling of the buttons is just painted on, as is common with many similar devices. How long that holds in the workshop area, remains to be seen. I noticed still that although there are many ringtones, but these are output via the built-in speaker is not just in "high-fidelity".
