Our Panasonic NR-B53V1-XE was the beginning of July 2011 (Saturn at that time at an unbeatable introductory price of 1.999, - incl 100 Voucher + 100 freight costs.) Supplied.
So we are looking at more than 12 months of experience with this unit back.
Our unit is fully remodels (with the prescribed distances to walls and cabinets for ventilation), ie wall right, apothecary cabinet on the left and top cabinet over it.
The unit runs in continuous operation with the following settings:
Refrigerator 5 ° C
Freezer -17 ° C
Vitamin-Safe 5 ° C
5 ° frsh-zone
Super Freeze from
Hygiene at
Holiday from
Eco on
The most notable advantage for us is the almost infinite shelf life of foods in this unit. And I'm not talking about 2 - 3 Days on MHD. We now consume no doubt since the past 4 weeks yogurt, smoked salmon with 1 1/2 weeks MHD, liver sausage with a month 'over it', mushrooms, carrots and other vegetables, which lies in the vegetable drawer for 2 weeks and more. In our old baby was much before the minimum durability date reached no more handsome or edible.
By optimum storage conditions at Panasonic with separate compartments with partly separate air are inedible food out of the refrigerator now passé.
The noise problems described by other reviewers I can not confirm. Generally, the device is not heard (even at night, when everything else is off). He is heard only briefly when the compressor on or off, water is drawn across the ice or ice cubes fall into the collection bin. Otherwise, silence.
What fingers being trapped concerns: That's me so far only once happens bemused when I wanted to close both doors at the same time. Otherwise has with us, no one (including any of our many guests) clamped fingers.
In general it can be accommodated in the drawers and piled much much even in the subjects. When we were looking for a device, the Panasonic was the device with the smallest footprint for the ice maker.
To clean all the drawers and compartments can be easily removed. Only after cleaning the ice collecting times you should make sure that everything is tidy including dry to prevent freezes's together.
With regard to the amount of ice cubes produced, there is on our side nothing to complain about. It takes about 2 days until the tank is full and we always have enough ice. Except for cocktail party last summer with about 20 people. But that does not create a Freezer!
When crush the ice cubes, it injected (as with many other devices) while a little, but this is indeed the collecting vessel there. One reviewer reported that the "normal" ice would gecrushed with him. I can not confirm that. There is a switch lever, which is actuated by the device, when "normal" cubes are needed. Then a door is opened by the falling ice. But residues remaining in the crusher area naturally falls (the first) out with.
Since we do not measure the Stromverbruach, all I can not say anything.
Experience with the Panasonic customer service so I can not share, however. Our device showed after 11 months on a problem with the flap of the ice dispenser. First, the door opened not quite, so that ice cube jammed and the door could not close it until the ice melted and lay as a lake in the collection container. :-(
Yes, it took almost 2 weeks and a reminder to a technician announced, but he was there the next day. Because the flap would not let set, the dispenser unit has changed completely and free (outside of the unit). About lack of friendliness or courtesy in appointment scheduling I can not complain. Now it works again super.
But the anger over the price of water filters can I share. It's really very extreme. But when I consider that the water filters for our home port 300, - costs and is not complex, it hardly surprises me.
Only careful when cleaning the removable parts with the dishwasher. The ABS-drip tray under the Eiswüfelbereiter found the 70 ° C in our dishwasher not great and has thereby distorted somewhat. But we can still continue to use. She is now only slightly higher diagonally.
In the end I can only say that I am now very happy that my husband has prevailed with its desire for a side-by-side. We have been buying up to now never looked back and would decide today exactly.
And by the way: it's pretty even ;-)
