From Super lens can at initial aperture 2.8 not just talk, but the extremely flat design calls of course take its toll! But with this lightweight and really handy lens mutates the Olympus E-420 (at least for me) to an "Always-In-Camera", and (of course still not as compact as a small of the "Knipp machines") thus sometimes even in your pocket, ideally to store outside pockets. Then you have all the advantages of a DSLR available! 25mm is at a crop of 1: 2 exactly the normal focal length of 50mm of analog (or full-frame sensor) and roughly equivalent to the human field of vision. The lens provides fast and reliably sharp and is very quiet, the Fokussierwege are short and thus quickly. The filter thread of 43mm allows for a relatively cheap filter insert (UV0 should to protect the optics always draufhaben), but which one should pay attention to thin filter design to prevent aberrations. The objective front protective cover is also extremely flat (with thread) and thus adjusted to the lens, but some "tricky" is compared to a bayonet cap. The trading price of currently 340, - is relatively high but here on eBay should be able to bid on it for half. Imaging performance, sharpness and bokeh at open aperture is OK and so that the "Pancake" need behind other "normal people" not to hide. A GeLi course, is not there, and you should think one to let it, because the advantages of compactness are then to go - One has mostly two pockets! ;-)
Conclusion: if you can even do without the "Big cutlery" / want and still not want to miss out on DSLR is well served by the combination E-XXX + Pancake!
