The quality of the thereby resulting video is near HD quality. Namely've then upscaled via a conversion program to 1080 p, the first file; the picture and sound quality and the amount of data has thus hardly changed.
One thing is important to know: The picture and sound quality of the movie clip file is only as good as the source material. Soiled, damaged or faded VHS tapes (in the basement for years, stored in the living room or in the attic) do not lead to the digitization of 'glossy files ". In these cases it is up to the cartridge, not the software!
